Laide Wood Guided Walk

Visitors inspecting the bird hide on the Wildlife Walk

Posted: Saturday 25 June, 2011

The guided walk around Laide Wood on Thursday 23rd June 2011, was led by Paul Bolton, NTS Ranger at Inverewe.  After a very heavy shower of rain, the sky brightened up and we had a very enjoyable walk around the main trail, and through to the bird hide, and cascade.

We spotted some new arrivals from the hide, that have taken up residence on Loch na Creige, and were accompanied by golden ringed dragonflies for part of the way.  Everyone enjoyed the morning, and one visitor said she liked the walk so much she didn't want it to end.

This event was held in conjunction with the Wild About Gairloch Festival.
