Sponsor-a-tree area now open

On Wednesday 8th April 2009, Mrs. Janet Bowen, Lord Lieutenant of Ross-shire officially opened the sponsor-a-tree area in Laide Wood.

The Lord Lieutenant planted a Sessile Oak to mark the opening, watched by a group of about 80 onlookers who braved the showers to witness the event.

Approximately fifty of the trees so far sponsored have been planted, with planting scheduled to continue into May.
