New Year Plantings

Work preparing the ground for the new trees

Posted: Thursday 1 January, 2009

Work is already under way, preparing the ground for planting 12,000 new trees in 2009.  The first stage in the process is called 'mounding', where small mounds of earth are built ready for the trees to be planted.  This work is already part-way completed.  The first new trees should be going in late January.

About 2,900 of the new trees will be planted in a specially designated area as part of our Sponsor-a-tree programme.  If you would like to sponsor a tree, see the relevant section on the main menu for further details.
