Laide Woodlanders - First tree planting day 2017

Laide Woodlanders at work

Posted: Monday 3 April, 2017

Several new faces joined the group for the first Laide Woodlanders of 2017.  The weather just about kept off, and the first batch of 250 deciduous trees were planted.  There are a number of smaller areas within the woodland where we need to restock, and Laide Woodlanders will be carrying out this work during the spring and autumn.

This time, we were working around Poohsticks bridge, and began by clearing self-sown lodgepole pine left over from the forestry plantation to make way for the young trees.

Look out for more info on Laide Woodlanders in the next edition of the newsletter.
