Moths Blitz and Butterfly Walk - 1st July 2016
Posted: Thursday 7 July, 2016
Despite the poor forecast for the night and day we decided to go ahead and keep our fingers crossed for better weather than the forecast. Although we did not have the numbers we would expect on a perfect night, and no butterflies, we did catch 26 species; four of which were new records for the wood and all come from a new site we had never tried.
The moth pictured is a Double Dart.
We hope to repeat the exercise again this year when we see there is a longer period of fine weather forecast so keep your eyes peeled for posters advertising it.
