Laide Wood fully open again

Posted: Sunday 7 September, 2014

As of Saturday 7th September, Laide Wood is once again open to the public.

Significant works have been carried out, to reinstate the paths where they were washed away and also to three of the bridges - including retrieving one from its new resting place downstream.

There is still some work to do, and you will see that some sections of path still need a top dressing which will return them to the same colour as the rest of the route.  The work had to be carried out in rather wet conditions, and in some places the paths are still quite soft.  These will firm up as they dry out over the coming days, but care should be taken in the meantime.

Yes, you can now walk the circular route again as before.

More details will be in the forthcoming newsletter, but for now (fairly) normal service is resumed.
